PEARSON TO MISS KELLS Kawasaki rider Michael Pearson will be a non starter at this weekends Adelaide International Kells Road Races, after his midweek accident while competing in the Southern 100 Road Races in the Isle of Man. Pearson, who crashed out in Tuesday nights Superbike Practice, suffered severe bruising to his legs and pelvic regions after his big get off on the Morrell Superstock Kawasaki. Pearson did however try to compete in Thursdays Supersport 600 race at the Southern 100, but he could only manage two laps of the Billowen circuit and had to retire as the pain was to extreme to carry on. Michael Pearson: "I am so very disappointed to be missing this weekends Kells Road Races as it is one of my favourite events. I tried to race today (Thursday) in the 600 race at the Southern 100 but I was in to much pain to continue and pulled in after two laps. I have taken quite a battering, worse than we all first thought after the crash, and if I went to race at Kells this weekend, I would be putting myself and other riders at risk by not being 100% fit, so its best to sit on the sidelines and watch. The Morrell Superstock Kawasaki is sort of second hand, so I will be without it for some time, so I really don't know when I will get back out on the track again....maybe the Armoy Races. First and foremost now is that I get back to full fitness as soon as is possible". Willis Marshall (PR) "Michael is gutted to be missing the Kells Races, but like he said, if not fully fit, its better to sit it out. After being on such a high after Scarborough, its amazing how soon you can be brought down to earth again, but thats racing, and these things happen. Thankfully, he will recover quickly, and then it will be back to businness as usual". Pic by Alan Armstrong
Michael Pearson Racing - Cock of the North Scarborough SIX OF THE BEST Ballygowan rider Michael Pearson had to surrounder his Cock of The North crown to inform Ryan Farquhar at the Cock of the North Races at Sarborough over the weekend with Pearson taking six runner up places to Farquhar from six starts, giving Kawasaki a 1-2 in all the races that Pearson contested. Held in excellant racing conditions, Pearson was first to admitt that Ryan was simply outstanding at Scarborough, with the Carryduff Forklifts/Morrell Racing rider hinting that the gap between the pair is slowing coming down race after race, with just two seconds seperating Farquhar and Pearson at the line in the final race on Sunday for the Cock of the North Trophy. Michael Pearson: "Its been a very good week all round, and to come away with six runner up finishes from six starts is very pleasing, but I would still have liked to have won at least one race over the weekend, but Ryan was in tip top form and he deserves the credit when credit is due. I am now heading straight over to the Isle of Man for this weeks Southern 100 at Castletown, with this being my first time at the meeting, so I was a little careful at Scarborough not to do anything silly that might have put my trip to the Southern at risk. From the Southern 100 is straight back home to Kells, so its going to be a very busy week". Willis Marshall: (PR) "Those where great results for Michael at the weekend, and indeed, well done to Ryan who was in blistering form. Michael used Magic Bullet at Scarborough for the first time and was well pleased with its performance, espicially with the 600, as the corner exciting speed was better than previous meetings. Michael also set his fastest ever lap around the Olivers Mount circuit with a personal best lap of 1 minute 46.7 seconds on the Morrell Superstock, so a great all round result. Thanks must go to Jonny Annett of Bike Bits NI who at the last minute sorted us out with brade pads for both the Cock of the North and for the Southern 100". Earlier in the day, Michael retired from the Irish Championship Open race after he over shot at Baldungan which relegated Pearson to 15th on the road. Try as he might, Pearson fought his way back into 9th place before he again over shot, this time at Dublin Road Corner, with the Morrell Kawasaki rider continuing on up the road and into the pits. Michael Pearson: "Its been a struggle with the big bike all year, as I am getting really bad arm pump when I ride it. Its not just so bad on the 600, but the Superstock Kawasaki is a real handful. It was nice to get fifth place in the Supersport 600 race, but we had under geared the bike and she just would not pull out the gears. I took the 600 to the Grand Fianle race, but as we all know, that was stopped. Its off to Scarborough on Friday and then to the Southern 100, so it going to be very busy over the next couple of weeks". Pic by Alan Armstrong

THE BURNING BUSH Ballygowans Michael Pearson took his best results to date in Saturdays hotly contested Bush Road Races in Co-Tyrone, with Pearson taking two podium place finishes in the Supersport 600 Race and the Grand Final. However, with Pearson suffering for most of the day with armpump, the Carryduff Forklifts/Morrell Racing Kawasaki rider felt that he could have won at least one of his races, only for him to be hampered from mid distance in all races. Michael Pearson: "That was tough going out there today, and with my arms playing havoc with me from the word go, it was difficult holding onto the end of the eight and ten lap races around this tight and bumpy circuit. I am very happy with the race results with the Supersport 600 result my personal best in this class at National level. To get a podium in the Grand Final was a real battle with myself and Davy Morgan battling it out for most of the ten laps. I had a coming together with Davy at the road end before the start finish straight which was my fault, and I apoligised to Davy at the end of the race for it. I went to grab a load of front brake for the road end and there was nothing there and we very nearly had a coming together, but thankfully we both got around the corner safetly. The heat out there today was serious as was the pace up front, but I still enjoyed it all the same, but to lose out to John Burrows for third place in the Open Race was disheartening but I could just do no more as my arms where knackered. Well done to William Dunlop for his four timer, and well done to the Dungannon Club for staging a superb meeting".Willis Marshall (Team Manager) "Michael produced stirling results today against all the odds, as the lad was really struggling with his arms. We are going to have to see about getting some surgery at the end of the season to stop this happening to him, as it is undoubtably costing him results. The racing and indeed the meeting as a whole was second to none today, and the competition was stiff in all class's. Hopefully Michael can carry this same momentum onwards into the Skerries Road Races in two weeks time, but all in all, today was very positive. Todays results see Michael move into second place in the Ulster and Irish Supersport Championships, just ten points adrift of William Dunlop, so yes, we are going in the right direction".BUSH ROAD RACE RESULTS: Dungannon & South Tyrone Council Supersport 600 Race. 1st: William Dunlop (CD Racing Yamaha) 2nd: Michael Pearson (Carryduff Forklifts Kawasaki) 3rd: John Burrows (BE Racing Yamaha) 4th: Davy Morgan (CSC Branson Yamaha) 5th: Michal Dokoupil (AIR Kawasaki) FASTEST LAP: DUNLOP - 2M14.958S - 88.235MPH *NEW LAP RECORD* H2 Engineering Bush Open: 1st: Davy Morgan (Strangford Holiday Park Suzuki) 2nd: William Dunlop (CD Racing Yamaha) 3rd: John Burrows (BE Racing Suzuki) 4th: Michael Pearson (Morrell Kawasaki) 5th: Derek Sheils (Amigos Honda) FASTEST LAP: DUNLOP - 2M12.677S - 89.752MPH *NEW LAP RECORD* The Cohannon Inn & Auto Lodge Grand Final: 1st: William Dunlop (CD Racing Yamaha) 2nd: John Burrows (BE Racing Yamaha) 3rd: Michael Pearson (Morrell Kawasaki) 4th: Davy Morgan (Strangford Holiday Park Suzuki) 5th: Michal Dokoupil (AIR Kawasaki) FASTEST LAP: DUNLOP - 2M11.661S - 90.445MPH *NEW LAP RECORD* MANX MOUNTAIN FOR PEARSON IN 2011Michael Pearson will make his first visit to the Mountain circuit in the Isle of Man in 2011 with Pearson setting his sights on the 2011 Manx Grand Prix. Pearson, who made a debut victory visit to the Horice Road Races in the Czech Republic last month, is eager to try his hand on the Worlds most famous road racing Circuit, but is aware that he needs to take in the Manx event before he tries his hand at the Isle of Man TT Races. Pearson who made his move from short circuit to Roads in 2009, has taken to the National scene very well, and with one of his two racing ambitions achieved, the TT circuit is the only one that eludes the Ballygowan rider. Michael Pearson: "I always wanted to race at the Macau Grand Prix and the Isle of Man TT Races, and I need to make moves now to try and get to where I want to be. It was our intention to go to the Isle of Man in 2010, but funding just did not allow us to do that. I don't want to be going to the TT Races half prepared, so I am now setting my sight on a visit to the 2011 Manx Motorcycle rand Prix in the Isle of Man. Hopefully, when that does happen I can then take in the Isle of Man TT Races in 2012, and that is the current plan".Willis Marshall: (Team Manager) "Its pointless jumping onto a boat and heading of to the TT Races in the Isle of Man, unless you have done your homework. Michael likes things to be just right before he has a go at it, so the Manx Grand Prix is the proper starting point for Michael before he tackles the Worlds most famous road race". FUCHS OIL 300 ZATACEK GUSTAVA HAVLA HORICE It was a highly sucessful weekend for the Michael Pearson Racing Team at the Horcie Road Races in the Czech Republic over the weekend of the 22/223rd May, when Michael on his debut visit to the difficult and demanding circuit, came away with a win in the Supersport 600 class on the Davy Greer Carryduff Forklifts Kawasaki with a winning margin of 38 seconds, and in doing so, set a new lap record for the Horice Circuit at 2m22.184s. Later in the day, Pearson would again mount the podiumin the Superbike race when he took a fine second place finish on the Morrell Kawasaki. Michael Pearson: "Its been a wonderful weekend. I never even seen this circuit before and everything just seemed to fall into place with both bikes. The only thing we ever had to do was change tyres as the Kawasaki's ran like clock work. I cannot praise the place enough from the organisation, the race fans which there where about 35,000 around the circuit, to my Team, Sponsors, and anyone else who has made this trip the success its been. In the Supersport 600 Championship race, Pearson finished in fifth place behind Relentless Suzuki rider Cameron Donald after a ten lap epic battle with the Aussie, with Pearson taking his Carryduff Forklifts Kawasaki to 11pts towards the Championship chase. In the Royal Hotel Cookstown 100 race over another ten laps of high speed action, Pearson took his Morrell Racing Kawasaki ZX10 Superstock bike to a fine fourth place finish behind the Robinson Concrete Honda of Michael Dunlop. This pair had a ding dong battle for most of the race with Dunlop just edging out Pearson on the final lap, after the Ballygowan rider encountered a faulty quick shifter on his Kawasaki. Earlier in the day, Pearson had to surrender third place in the Open Non Championship Race after he encountered arm pump on lap five of ten, with Pearson having to slow right off, which resulted in the Morrell Kawasaki rider finishing in seventh place.
